Gerflor has scooped two prestigious accolades in the House Beautiful Awards 2010, an annual event that honours the UK’s top household products, best retailers and most popular personalities in the homes and interiors markets.
In the hotly contested awards, which are entered by leading companies in these industries, Gerflor bagged not just one but two accreditations in the Best Flooring category by winning the Silver Award for Caractère Elegance and a short-listing for the Designer Collection.
The judging is rigorous and the benchmark of excellence set at the highest level. Our products were first selected by the House Beautiful editorial team and then judged by a panel including home experts Kelly Hoppen, Jeff Banks, Simon Boyle, Sophie Conran, David Domoney, Kathryn Rayward, Tommy Walsh, Kim Woodburn, Jane Packer and Oliver Heath.
Oliver Heath presented Gerflor’s Silver trophy, courtesy of Dartington Crystal, to John Hardaker, Sales & Marketing Director for UK Residential Floorings, at the Awards ceremony held at London’s Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
House Beautiful’s Editor, Julia Goodwin, said: “The House Beautiful Awards is the red carpet event of the homes industry - honouring the best of the best. This year we received a record number of entries and the standard has been higher than ever. From storage and wallpaper to sofas and kitchens, the buys you make for your home will be with you for years. This is why the House Beautiful Awards recognise only excellence across the board.”

Both Caractère Elegance and the Designer Collection are to be commemorated in House Beautiful’s ‘100 Best Buys for the Home’ – a 32 page supplement to the March issue (out February 2011), which celebrates the Awards and its winners.
