Maintenance

The surface must be clean, flat, dry and smooth. Fill any holes or cracks with a smoothing compound (and use putty for floorboards).

Floor preparation & tools

• make sure that the floor is hard, flat, dry and smooth

•   clean the surface:

• remove dust and clean the floor with water containing a mild detergent

• remove any traces of plaster, paint or greasy substances, etc..

• level the surface (if necessary)

Tools required

•   for adhesive tiles & strips:

• 1 ruler

• 1 Stanley knife

• 1 pencil

•   for sheet vinyl:

• 2 x 2m metal rulers

• 1 Stanley knife

• 1 notched spatula (for adhesive)

• 1 tape measure

• 1 plane

• adhesive acrylic or double-sided adhesive tape
